Gold Creek – Explore Port Valdez
A shoreline paddle of Port Valdez that departs from the kayak slips in the small boat harbor.
Paddle beautiful shoreline past the Mineral Creek delta, a favorite spot for marine mammals and birds, and under waterfalls plummeting from the peaks of the Chugach Mountains. The alluring beach of Gold Creek is a perfect spot to explore by foot. Beach comb, hike to a waterfall or cast for salmon (in season). This is a favorite destination for local kayakers.
Note: This day trip encompasses more miles of paddling, about 9 miles roundtrip, than our other day trip options.
