Shoup Glacier to Valdez – Two or Three Day

Camp with a glacier view.

Among the most popular kayak camp trips in Alaska, this itinerary includes a great combination of paddling, hiking and relaxation. Paddle Port Valdez under the peaks of the Chugach Mountains, pass cascading waterfalls and a historic gold mining site to Shoup Glaciers terminus. Hike along the glaciers toe where icy blue features are carved by rushing meltwater. Relax to the sounds of waterfalls while enjoying an Alaskan themed meal with a glacier view. The voyage from Shoup Bays mouth to the glacier’s toe is an exciting story of the evolution of a glacial landscape.

Note: Most guests can accomplish the Valdez to Shoup Glacier route as an overnight. Adding an extra day allows more time to explore and relax.
