Beginning at Chamberlain Bay on the south side of Glacier Island this trip is a great combination of wildlife viewing and a paddle through the active zone of the 2nd largest tidewater glacier in North America. Great for whales, sealions, seals, otters, and myriad birds the trip abruptly changes as you cross the remnant terminal moraine of Columbia Glacier to an exploration of a world of ice and emerging lands that were 300 feet under the glacier 25 years ago. The trip ends with an approach to the current face of the glacier.
